OUR SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS
The Metellus Scholarship Program is intended to recognize students whose experiences reflect educational opportunity, perseverance, leadership, service, and meaningful impact.
The goal is to create a sustainable scholarship program that reflects values central to Kalief Metellus' experience at SUNY Old Westbury while creating meaningful opportunities for future generations of students.
KALIEF L. METELLUS EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY SCHOLARSHIP
Selection should emphasize persistence, growth, engagement, and commitment to degree completion rather than GPA alone.
METELLUS PERSEVERANCE & RESILIENCE SCHOLARSHIP
Academic achievement should be considered within the context of the applicant's circumstances, with emphasis
placed on persistence and continued progress rather than academic performance alone.
METELLUS LEADERSHIP, SERVICE, & IMPACT SCHOLARSHIP
Selection should consider demonstrated impact and service, not simply whether the applicant holds an elected or formal leadership title.
